Celebrating with style in a 1700s Historic Spring House
This past weekend I had the incredible privilege to host the most incredible bachelorette party for my beautiful cousin and her amazing wedding party. Not only was the Bride to be lovely, but the location was stunning as well.
The event took place in a historic Spring house in Mount Joy, PA that dates back to the 1700's. Without even trying, I even dressed the part to host a party in this historic place:)
The day started off with a luxury picnic brunch under some much needed shade trees, there is only so much heat that a meat and cheese charcuterie board can take! The girls were great sports putting up with the heat and managed to enjoy a beautiful brunch while they laughed the morning away.
The grazing table was filled with fresh cut flowers from my garden, my mom's garden (thanks mom!) and yes, even the side of the road. I am unashamedly that crazy lady who drives around with scissors just in case she needs to stop and cut some.
Brunch was a delicious assortment of pastries, croissants, fresh fruit cups, blueberry goat cheese, fresh sourdough bread, cheesecake, and my favorite Rose Lemonade.
After an enjoyable morning we decided the party must continue, but, inside. So the girls met me inside where we embarked on a 2 hour macrame course. I had two projects for the girls to choose from, and the ambitious and optimistic maid of honor chose the most difficult of the two options for the group to make. I loved her ambition and the rest of the girls jumped right in learning how to make knot, after knot, after knot. I am pretty sure they were all dreaming of knots that evening.
The girls did an absolutely amazing job and we all had a blast as we chatted and tied knots, untied knots, and then finished tying more knots.

I shared with the girls how the art of macrame always reminds me of all the work that God does in my own life, and specifically, all the work that God has done in my own marriage. Each string of rope reminds me of something different that we bring to the marriage, and even though the different things we bring into the marriage may cause some knots, and some difficulties, if we are open, God, The creator of all good things, can weave all of those cords together to create something beautiful. When woven together, those cords no longer are individual strings, but they are a woven masterpiece that can not be broken and becomes a thing of beauty for others to see.
Time to insert a sappy moment-
(Quick shout out to my hubby, ((even though he probably will not read this post:)) I am so thankful for how God has woven our story together into something pretty amazing and stronger than we could have ever dreamed. Te amo:)
Okay, enough of that. Back to the girls.

Thank you ladies for allowing me to be a small part of your special day. You were a joy to host and I can't wait to see all of the macrame creations that you will for sure, continue to make. I mean, you are basically professionals by now.

And last but not least, my favorite part of the day was spending time cleaning up with this special lady. My grandma drove over to help me clean up from the event, lug my heavy wooden table up a steep hill, sweep all the floors, and then treat me to some cold juice back at her house while we kicked up our feet. Thank you Grandma for your example of hard work, love, and service,You are the best.
Thank you for reading & thank you for being here.
